From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Starts with Us and It Ends with Us, a novel about risking everything for love--and finding your heart somewhere between the truth and lies.

At age twenty-one, Auburn Reed has already lost everything important to her. In her fight to rebuild her shattered life, she has her goals in sight and there is no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn't expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a chance and puts her heart in control, only to discover that Owen is keeping a major secret from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.

To save their relationship, all Owen needs to do is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin.

Colleen Hoover is flawless! Her writing pulls you in and makes you feel, really feel, you connect with the characters from the start. You are pulled in so deeply you feel every emotion in her writing.
The prologue for this book will pull at your heart strings and we must admit it made us teary.

Firstly we absolutely loved the uniqueness of this book, we loved the confessions and combining those with the art was just brilliant, basing art on true confessions and having the visual just makes you connect even more. We found ourselves staring at the art work trying to take in each element that corresponded with the confession.

The book will truly touch every emotion and pull you in so deep. We loved the connections between the characters, the sacrifices that were made and the unbreakable bonds. The story is raw, passionate and the characters had imperfections. Overall it was a touching story of Auburn and Owen.

Auburn Mason Reed is one of those characters you connect with and love from the very beginning. You just want to be there right beside her giving her a muma bear hug, she has you pulling at your heart strings. Her character is mature beyond her years due to everything she has been through. She still remains positive even though she has been through more than most people experience in a lifetime. She takes everything in her stride and keeps going on and battling through life. Just like every other day, leaving work she takes her steps home thinking about her future and what she needs to make it happen. Walking past an art gallery with a help wanted sign is a sign for her. She needs money to pay attorney fees, and she needs it fast.

Owen Mason Gentry is a sexy as sin artist with a huge heart. Owen is amazing, he is kind, gentle, thoughtful, generous, sweet and charming. His art is inspired by confessions, that are left anonymously at his gallery. There is a true beauty behind his art. While Owen comes across damn near perfect he has his own secret confessions he keeps to himself, exposing those confessions would hurt him and hurt others. That is until one day Auburn steps foot into his art gallery.

From the moment these two met we loved everything about them, they just clicked. Through the pain, lust and angst these two go through you can't help but continue to fall in love with them. Confessing their truths won’t be easy, but once they do, its the journey that it takes them on that will be the hardest path they travel. With so much stacked against them will their confessions destroy them both? Or redeem them from their fears?

Colleen is just another one of the few DEAR (drop everything and read) authors for us. The way she pulls you in, makes you connect with her characters and pulls at your heart so your emotions are on the roller coaster that won't stop and you won't want it to stop. A thought provoking read that will have you thinking about your confessions.
