Silver on the Tree is the final novel in Susan Cooper's Dark is Rising series.

The stage is set for the ultimate battle between the Dark and the Light. Will Stanton and the Drew children are ready to fight against the evil growing in England.

Much like any good fantasy, the novel contains commentary on real life issues, touching on racism and social inequality. Cooper delivers on the promise of an epic magic battle, her writing drawing the reader into the world in time for the reckoning.

Long before Harry Potter, Susan Cooper wrote the ultimate story of good versus evil. This book cannot be read without the other four, but it is a journey every fan of fantasy must go through.
