The authors' unfortunately did not have Annie's cooperation for this biography, so of course some of her friends would also have made themselves unavailable. Despite this, the authors seem to have done a fairly exacting process of tracking down every interview, press release or other media, together with talking to those friends and associates who were available. The authors don't seem to have any particular background in music journalism, and we can't really get close to Annie through their book. However, we do find out a lot that wasn't generally public knowledge and that is interesting. The publishers, Omnibus, do have some record of music publishing, but the quality of their print and reproduction is poor. So I give it four heart for effort and general interest, but we really need to hear from Annie herself as well.
