England in the year 2048 and tanks and troops are guarding the gates of the Houses of Parliament. With the help of prickly centenarian Eric Blair, 17-year-old Winnie Smith takes on the might of the 'liberal progressive' government led by Rose Cromwell, the nation's first black female prime minister overseeing an ever-more dictatorial regime, where free speech is an act of treason and trolls openly cancel and publicly vilify neighbours on giant television screens on every street corner.

With more than a passing homage to the genius George Orwell, 2048: Demockracy envisages a nation taking to the streets either in the form of organised local vigilante militias who enforce their own summary justice while the police focus on any perceived 'hate crime', or the protesters determined to fight back to the death, if necessary, against a woman who demands they call her 'Mother'.
