Absolutely broken sky is an instrumentation of the electroacoustic work "Transitorio Perpetuo" for chamber ensemble and a soloist piano. Structurally, it consists of a set of variations in which the theme has two sections: a larger one and a shorter one. In the larger section the main character is the piano, whereas in the shorter section importance shifts towards the ensemble. The first section is characterized by an arhythmic and heterophonic texture established by the piano. Certain notes on this texture are highlighted by the chamber ensemble with various types of percussive sounds. The second section consists of a rising continuous inharmonic sound which leads into the first variation. As variations move forward, the first section progressively incorporates elements of the second section, whereas the second section begins to resemble more and more the first section. By the time we arrive to the final variation, both sections have evolved to such an extent that they have merged into a single entity. Autograph Edition of Contemporary Music #27.
