Philip Pullman

Philip Pullman is one of the most highly respected children's authors writing today.

Winner of many prestigious awards, including the Carnegie of Carnegies and the Whitbread Award, Pullman's epic fantasy trilogy His Dark Materials has been acclaimed as a modern classic.

It has sold 17.5 million copies worldwide and been translated into 40 languages. In 2005 he was awarded the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. He lives in Oxford.

Chris Wormell

Chris Wormell (Illustrator) Chris is a self-taught artist; he never went to art college or had any formal training: "Which is probably why I hold the tools wrongly," he explains - a fact that makes his obvious raw talent all the more enchanting.

He works using two main methods: wood engraving and linocut, as well as writing and illustrating his own children's books. Working for a diverse collection of clients worldwide, Chris' unmistakable style has lent itself to some fantastic campaigns that have been highly commended throughout the industry, including the cover artwork for the bestselling H is for Hawk.

Chris has been with The Artworks since the mid- 1980's and continues to pave the way in his field and as a true ambassador for the craft of illustration.
