I really enjoyed reading this book. Im not usually one for suspenseful novels, but this one had me gripped from the very beginning. To get away from the media after the death of her young sister, Katherine Patterson and her parents move away to start afresh. Having to deal with her parents depression, her own guilt and starting a new school, Katherine is very quiet and reserved.

Until she meets Alice.

Quickly, an unlikely friendship is formed with the narcissistic sociopath. And so the ensues drama and chaos that only Alice can bring as what really happened the night of Katherines sisters murder is revealed. Although a tad clich and over-dramatized at times, Rebecca James has written a great book that will leave you clutching at the end of your seat! Full of suspense, mystery and action, an easy and satisfying Aussie read.
