There are so many good books out there for young kids - this is most definitely NOT one of them. As a parent or educator, ask yourself - do you really need to be introducing your child/student to such dark topics at such a young age? My 7 year old had nightmares for several nights after being forced to read it in his literacy classes at school. Just as twilight zone attempts to make vampires look like heroes, this book also glorifies the darkness and makes vampires seem cool. I know vampires don't exist - but tell that to a 6 or 7 year old - or to a teen hooked on twilight zone for that matter? There are so many good books out there for this age group - please, for the sake of their future - leave the dark and morbid where it belongs - OUTSIDE the life of a young child !!
