Charles Dickens, his life and times is a beautifully produced pictorial biography of the man that many people consider to be the finest prose writer this country has even produced. Containing almost 200 illustrations, mainly postcards and early prints, Dickens personal and professional life is recounted via expertly constructed captions. A full and informative introduction sets the scene and there is a detailed index, plus notes and a full bibliography. Dickens was the ultimate visual artist, creating characters that come alive in our imagination - but no one has ever thought to tell his story through pictures. Charles Dickens: His Life and Times - A Pictorial Biography of the World's Greatest Storyteller also includes a list of 'Dickens' Places', locations where interested people can go and discover more about the man and his work.
