Brynleigh Tavish, a small bookstore owner and community activist, is thrust into a large land development corporation when her mother, the President and owner, becomes ill. Although she's not cunning and cut-throat like her mother, Brynleigh finds herself manipulated into the boardroom, negotiating properties for ritzy resorts, glamorous hotels, and glittery casinos around the Dallas area.

Colton Bruens, recently discharged from the military due to an injury, is laying low at his boyhood home where his brother has created a safe haven for juvenile boys. When plans for a new casino threaten the boys ranch, Colton picks up his battle gear once again and fights for the ranch.
