Cantankerous is for sure! It’s meant to be funny, but reading it to the children at childcare like I’m planning to, I’m worried it’s going to make me the reader sound a little too obnoxious. I could just say, “He’s a very cranky little cactus,” before beginning and just embrace his bad attitude so it could be fine. The information inside was all new to me, so I learnt a lot which was good and I look forward to sharing that. With outdoor environments and colours being two things that get focused on in child care, it’s a great resource material for educators.
