I know you know this is a book by a biologist, and so I know this will seem totally out of place, but I have to say this is a breathtakingly beautiful book - the most beautiful book I have ever read. It liberates humans from the chains that have bound us since we first became conscious. It is the realisation of all the efforts of all the humans that have ever lived. It is THAT profound. Please please please read it.

This guy must have a team of researchers working for him. This book is full, and I mean bursting full, of the most amazing quotes from different eras, cultures, disciplines. Theres prophets from the Bible, scientists from Harvard, pop singers, writers, artists, journalists. It is pretty important though, because the argument in this book, that we humans are aggressive and competitive because of a psychosis, is pretty radical, so I found all the support quite helpful.
