This latest suite of stories also addresses the increasingly important elements of cultural diversity, identity and inclusivity, ensuring the opportunity to extend both Indigenous and non-Indigenous children's knowledge and understandings of themselves, and others who may be different from them. This further assists the development of children's wellbeing and sense of identity... again, all within the context of the classroom literacy block, which in turn, reduces the impact of the "crowded curriculum".
Whilst other Learning Areas such as HaSS, Science and The Arts are also addressed, along with the Sustainability Cross Curriculum Priority, the primary focus for "More Stories" relies on its ability to allow both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students across a wide range of learning levels, the opportunity to celebrate their history, heritage, cultures, and values through literacy.
