How Digging a Pond Changed North America's Prehistory
Publication Date: 23/11/2011
A children's picture is about Emanuel Manis' discovery of two mastodon tusks on his Washington State farm in 1977. An embedded rib bone with a spear point proved man hunted mastodon 12,000 years ago. In Oct. 2011, CT scans and DNA tests at Texas A&M University (CSFA) on the spear point established the point was made from a different mastodon by human hands and dating the Manis site at 13,800 years old. Archaeologists have long believed Clovis were the first human inhabitants of North America and they lived here 13,000 years ago. The Manis Mastodon Site is 800 years older than the Clovis people.
