This is one of my favourite children’s books!
I just love it! So much more then the version I grew up with.
I love Red’s personality and how smart she is.
I LOVE the illustrations! They are super adorable and colourful.
I love the setting and her journey.
I love the ending and how we can and should encourage others making wrong choices to make right choices, and explaining ways for them to do so.

Also, the children I read it to ask for it a lot. One little girl in particular seems to identify with Red. She tells her peers excitedly about how they both have similar braided hair, and refers to her as the aboriginal girl with a tone of pride in her voice.
