Heather Henderson

Heather Henderson was born in Melbourne and moved to Canberra in 1951 after her father Robert Menzies became Prime Minister.

In 1955 she married Peter Henderson, whose work as a Foreign Service Officer took their family to posts in Djakarta, Geneva, London and Manila before he became Secretary of the Department from 1979 to 1984.

The Hendersons have four daughters, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. They live in Canberra.
