Once Upon a Slime is full of fun ideas for teaching writing to students, including lots of examples from Andy Griffiths' books, which the kids love! There is also an index which has helped me to find activities that are relevant to different writing activities (ie. Persuasive, recounts) when planning lessons. A really great resource!
