The book starts by setting the scene with chapters on the social psychology of stalking, the varieties of stalking, the characteristics of perpetrators and the relational and environmental contexts, and on the third sector's involvement in this field. The next section covers the criminal justice perspective, and how the law, the Crown Prosecution Service, the courts and the police could respond more adequately to victims and promote awareness of its impact across this sector. The third section is the heart of the book, with its 15 first-person accounts about the experience of being stalked and its impact on the victims and those around them, including their children.
