Peter Bently is the award-winning bestselling picture book author of Shark in the Dark, Lark in the Ark, The Great Dog Bottom Swap and Cats Ahoy!

He won the Roald Dahl Funny Prize in 2011.

Karen McCombie is the bestselling author of nearly 90 books for children and teenagers, including the series Ally’s World, Stella Etc, Indie Kidd and novels An Urgent Message of Wowness and The Raspberry Rules.

Before becoming an author she worked for teen magazines such as J17 and Sugar. Originally from Scotland, she lives in London with her family and assorted cats.

Teresa Heapy recently went from publishing books for Oxford University Press to writing books. She is the author of the Very Little series, including Very Little Red Riding Hood, which won Best Picture Book in the Oxfordshire Children’s Book Award and the Coventry Inspiration Book Awards.

She lives in Oxford, England, with her husband and three children.

Elen Caldecott graduated with an MA in Writing for Young People from Bath Spa University and was highly commended in the PFD Prize for Most Promising Writer for Young People.

Before becoming a writer, she was an archaeologist, a nurse, a theatre usher and a museum security guard. Elen's debut novel, How Kirsty Jenkins Stole the Elephant, was shortlisted for the Waterstone's Children's Prize and longlisted for the 2010 Carnegie Medal.

Narinder Dhami was born in Wolverhampton of an Indian father and English mother. She taught in primary schools for nine years but now writes full-time. Her other books include the novelisation of the film Bend It Like Beckham and the recently published Bindi Babes.
