A stunning and unforgettable black book...about colour.

Our eyes tell us about colour. But what if you are blind? Can you still know colours? Using simple language and beautiful textured art, this book shows you how to 'see' without your eyes. From out of the blackness, a beautiful rainbow of colours emerges!

Braille letters accompany the illustrations on every page and a full Braille alphabet offers sighted readers help in deciphering the text with their fingers, and sharing an experience usually known by blind readers alone.

This lovely picture book has the text also in braille, with raised lines in the drawings. While it looks black, there is texture for your fingertips and text for your imagination. I think this book is a must-read, allowing children (and adults!) to imagine what it would be like to be blind, and how they could describe colours if they had never seen them. We live in a diverse world and everybody is different - this book celebrates another way of looking at our beautiful world. Teachers could use this book easily in their classes to encourage children in their creative writing descriptions, and to imagine life as a person who is blind. Worth purchasing for home use or to donate to your school or local library!
