Neal Layton has illustrated over forty books for children, including Poo, Extreme Animals, What's Eating You? and Just the Right Size.

Neal uses all sorts of different media to make his illustrations: pencils, paint, pens, ink, pieces of collage, biros, photocopiers, cameras, a computer, bits of stick, old toothbrushes, dough, hair, leaves, anything that comes to hand...

His books have won the Smarties Prize and been shortlisted for the Red House Book Awards, the Blue Peter Book Awards and the Booktrust Early Years Award. Neal lives in Portsmouth, Hampshire.

Nicola Davies is an award-winning author whose many books for children include A First Book of Nature, A First Book of Animals, Tiny, Lots, The Promise, King of the Sky, Ice Bear, Big Blue Whale, Dolphin Baby, Just Ducks, Poo and the Heroes of the Wild series.

She graduated in zoology, studied whales and bats and then worked for the BBC Natural History Unit. Nicola lives in Crickhowell, Wales.
