J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan is a thrilling adventure for all ages - the story of the boy who refuses to grow up is a tale that never gets old.

It follows the Darling children, who befriend the magical Peter and are whisked away to Neverland, where the villainous Captain Hook and the brave Lost Boys await.

With illustrations by F. D. Bedford, gorgeously coloured by one of Britain's leading colourists, Barbara Frith, this majestic Macmillan Collector's Library edition brings to life one of the world's favourite tales.

J. M. Barrie

J. M. Barrie (1860-1937) was fascinated by stories of his mother's life. He was determined to write, and worked on the Nottingham Journal after graduating from Edinburgh University.

In 1885 he successfully sold the Auld Licht Idylls, which were based on his mother's tales. By the time Peter Pan opened on the London stage in 1904, Barrie had written more than thirty novels and plays, such as Quality Street and The Admirable Crichton. He was created a baronet in 1913 and awarded the Order of Merit in 1922.

I grew up watching the cartoon and of course loved this story. It wasn't until I was older that I decided to read the book and what a surprise that was! It was classic Peter Pan but it was also so much more than the movie.

J.M. Barrie created a world that is not only beautiful and strange but bewildering! Peter's existence poses some interesting questions and I found myself intrigued by this strange boy with memory problems.

For anyone who ever loved this story, please read the book. I promise it will take you to the real Neverland.
