Narinder Dhami

Narinder Dhami was born in Wolverhampton of an Indian father and English mother. She taught in primary schools for nine years but now writes full-time. Her other books include the novelisation of the film Bend It Like Beckham and the recently published Bindi Babes.

Simon Puttock

Simon Puttock was born in New Zealand.

He has written over 40 books for children including picture books and fiction and has won several awards, including the 2016 Scottish Children's Book Award for Mouse's First Night at Moonlight School.

Jeanne Willis

Jeanne Willis was born in St Albans, Herts, in 1959. As a young girl she sought adventures though writing comic strips and books.

After completing a copywriting course at Watford Art College she went on to work in advertising. Today, Jeanne is an internationally renowned, full-time writer and has published over a hundred books ranging from picture books including The Bog Baby and Who's in the Loo?, to YA, poetry and fiction.

She has won several awards, including the Children's Book Award, the Silver Smarties Prize and has also been shortlisted for the Whitbread Award.

Aleesah Darlison

Aleesah Darlison is a multi-published, award-winning Australian author. She has written nearly forty books for boys and girls of all ages. Her much-loved stories promote the concepts of sustainability, environmental awareness, courage, understanding, anti-bullying, love, self-belief, friendship and teamwork.

Aleesah’s book, Our Class Tiger, was joint winner of the 2015 Environment Award for Children’s Literature (Non-Fiction). Aleesah’s other series for children include the Unicorn Riders series and the Totally Twins series.

John Dougherty

John Dougherty was born in Larne, Northern Ireland, and not many years later they made him go to school - an experience he didn't find entirely enjoyable. Fortunately, the joys of reading helped him through the difficult times. It's therefore not completely surprising that when he grew up he became first a teacher (the nice sort), and then a writer of stories and poetry for children. He also writes songs, some of which he performs with First Draft, a band made up of three children's authors and a bookseller.

He now lives in England with his two children.Thomas Docherty is an author and illustrator of childrens books based in Swansea. His first picture book, The Little Boat was shortlisted for the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal, and he has also worked on several books with his wife Helen Docherty, including The Snatchabook, The Knight Who Wouldn't Fight and Pirate Nell's Tale To Tell. His books have been sold around the world and have eben translated into more than 25 languages.

Thomas Docherty

Thomas Docherty is an acclaimed author and illustrator of children's picture books including Little Boat, Big Scary Monster, and the Driftwood BallThe Snatchabook, which was written by his wife Helen, has been shortlisted for several awards in the UK and US and been translated into 17 languages.

Tony Ross

Tony Ross was born in London and studied at the Liverpool School of Art and Design. He has worked as a cartoonist, a graphic designer, as the Art Director of an advertising agency, and as Senior Lecturer in Art at Manchester Polytechnic.

Tony is one of the most popular and successful children's illustrators of all time, best known for illustrating Horrid Henry and the works of David Walliams. Tony's books have been translated into 40 languages in over 100 countries. He lives in Macclesfield.

Louise Pigott

Louise Pigott is an illustrator and author from Cambridge, UK. She specializes in creating vibrant, detailed, and atmospheric digital illustrations with a hand-painted feel for children’s picture books. Louise also creates artwork for the greeting card industry, and her work has been printed and sold around the world. She is inspired largely by nature, animals, and all things magical.

Louise graduated with a first class honors degree in graphic design and illustration from De Montfort University, Leicester, in 2009. Her past clients have included Paperchase, Hallmark, Harper Collins, Oxford University Press, American Greetings, Bloomsbury, WHSmith, The Royal Horticultural Society, Noel Tatt, Studio Press, Capstone USA, Curious Fox, and Priddy Books, among others.

Shane McGowan

Shane McG is a Melbourne-based illustrator whose work appears in publications globally. He writes and illustrates his own picture books for children as well as illustrating for a wide range of authors.
