Whoever heard of a hedgehog without prickles?

Spike, a little hedgehog, has always had impressive prickles. But one morning, after a particularly scary dream, he wakes up completely bare! Oh no! Feeling very embarrassed, he goes in search of something to cover himself, from a paper lampshade to a tea cup to a very stinky sock.

But nothing stops the other animals giggling at him. Poor Spike! Then he discovers a big bunch of balloons, which takes him across the world and ends in a very satisfying POP! and a very prickly party.

Jeanne Willis

Jeanne Willis was born in St Albans, Herts, in 1959. As a young girl she sought adventures though writing comic strips and books.

After completing a copywriting course at Watford Art College she went on to work in advertising. Today, Jeanne is an internationally renowned, full-time writer and has published over a hundred books ranging from picture books including The Bog Baby and Who's in the Loo?, to YA, poetry and fiction.

She has won several awards, including the Children's Book Award, the Silver Smarties Prize and has also been shortlisted for the Whitbread Award.

Jarvis

Jarvis lives in a very leafy and quiet part of Northern England with his girlfriend (who tells him what's good/bad and pretty much gives him most of his ideas) and their cat, who rips those ideas into tiny pieces.

He has always doodled wherever his career has taken him, from graphic design student to record sleeve designer to animation director. The way that he works always begins in a sketchbook with pencil.

From there it evolves into charcoal, photoshop brushes, pencil crayon or paint to finish the look. He uses many programmes, but the main ones are Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Who Is Happy? is one of his first picture books.
