The fourth book in the fully illustrated, globe-trotting middle grade fantasy-adventure series about mythical creatures and their cultures of origin, from the Newbery Honor-winning author of The Inquisitor's Tale.

Pura Belpre Honor-winning author David Bowles joins Newbery Honor-winning Adam Gidwitz as co-author of the newest Unicorn Rescue Society adventure, as the kids travel to the U.S.-Mexican border to help the legendary chupacabras.

Elliot and Uchenna have only just returned from their most recent Unicorn Rescue Society mission when Professor Fauna whisks them away (Jersey, too!), on their next exciting adventure. This time, they're headed to Laredo, on the U.S.-Mexican border to help another mythical creature in need- the chupacabras.

Teaming up with local kids Lupita and Mateo Cervantes - plus their brilliant mother, Dr. Alejandra Cervantes and her curandero husband Israel - the kids struggle to not only keep the chupacabras safe, but also to bring a divided community together once more.

Adam Gidwitz

Adam Gidwitz grew up in Baltimore, USA. Now he lives in Brooklyn and teaches kids large and slightly less large at Saint Ann's School. Adam always writes about things that he's experienced personally.

So, while all of the dark and grim things in this book really did happen to Hansel and Gretel, they also happened to Adam. Of course, if you've ever had a childhood, they've probably happened to you too.

David Bowles

David Bowles is the award-winning Mexican American author of They Call Me Guero and other titles for young readers.

Because of his family's roots in Mexico, he's traveled all over that country studying creepy legends, exploring ancient ruins, and avoiding monsters (so far). He lives in Donna, TX.,

Hatem Aly

Hatem Aly is an Egyptian-born illustrator of the New York Times bestselling The Proudest Blue, written by Olympic medallist Ibtihaj Muhammad, and The Inquisitor's Tale, a Newbery Honor Book, as well as the bestselling Yasmin fiction series, written by Saadia Faruqi.

As a child, he would imagine shapes forming on the mosque's carpet if he stared down long enough, which then swiftly disappeared and transformed into beautiful patterns when he looked up. In My Mosque is full of those same beautiful patterns. Hatem lives in New Brunswick, Canada with his wife, son, and more pets than people.
