Contains Spoilers: Keep Reading?

While this may be a good book for absolute novice dog owners, the information is completely outdated and the training section is extremely basic if not barely applicable. The beginning about explaining the breed and its heritage/personality is pretty accurate, but for someone who has been around Akita‘s, before, it is completely dependent on the dogs nature in terms of personality and the book makes the breed seem easy to control. It is not worth the price as there is nothing in here that you can’t find for free on the Internet, and it is very short in terms of information and doesn’t dive deeply into anything specific e.g. how to stop leash pulling on a difficult dog.
Gives very basic training methods, as none of these methods have worked on my dog, apart from sit and spin, teaching a dog to command “paw” is a lot more difficult that “putting the treat near its paw” as the author instructs what to do.
Probably would not recommend unless you want some light reading, this will not help with your Akita unless you don’t know a single thing about dogs.
Basics, like heritage, nutrition, and coat, care are explained well.
Also, there are a lot of words misprinted/ misspelt aswell.
