This book covers the history of the early diesel classes 21 and 29, which were constructed by the North British Locomotive Company in the early 1960s for the Scottish region of British Railway. Both classes were not very successful and were all withdrawn within ten years of entering service. AUTHOR: Anthony Sayer is a life long railway enthusiast who has been taking pictures since the 1960. He has an interest in the history of early diesels and electric locomotives and this is the first of several books looking at this subject. Anthony lives in the north east of England and is now retired from the steel industry which was his career for over thirty years.
