Suzie, Monika and Daisy are at it again, with help, or perhaps it’s mostly hinderance, from Wanda the ghost cat.
Suzie is trying to find her father, but, well things keep getting in the way.
Like the science fair Mr Hightake the headmaster of Wallsley Academy has charged them to win, to Alistair, Monkia’s not so nice brother. Although Monkia and her parents don’t seem mind Suzie staying with them, (after all, where else can she go?), Alistair seems to hate Suzie being there and Suzie feels like a freeloader. Add to that, Wanda does something to Alistair’s shampoo and Suzie gets the blame! Luckily, they still have Undertown and the magic rods, although a big, yellow excavator is flattening Suzie’s home.
But Monika and Suzie are so busy with other things they leave the science fair project to Daisy. To be fair, Suzie and Monika are dealing with rats and well, zombies! And to top it all off, Darius brings back Cassandra. I mean, why would he do something like that?
Then Daisy disappears.
This is the second instalment in The Suzie Steel Adventures, and it doesn’t disappoint. The tension and action kept me turning the pages. Suzie and her friends don’t always come out on top, but they find their way though together. Although Suzie’s hunt for her father is no closer to ending, she, Daisy and Monika gain a little more knowledge of Suzie’s world. A well written book lending to the next in the series.
