Who knew there was such a thing as a tea designer! I’m not usually of a fan of overly descriptive writing. This is mostly likely because I am not a very creative person and therefore consider it superfluous. However, I could completely visualise The Tea Chest (Brisbane and London) as described by Moon. Not an easy feat, I assure you! If I passed such a store on the street, I would definitely step inside to browse the magic. I even found myself wishing there was a tea recipe included (and I’m a coffee drinker).

Enough about me. The Tea Chest is essentially about relationships of all kinds (marital, siblings, friends, potential lovers). The main players (characters) are all women who are searching for something. I especially liked the character Simone and would have loved to share a Long Island Iced Tea (or two) with her.
Now for the cons – mild spoiler alert. I really didn’t understand the whole cheque business. Speaking of not understanding, I can’t see how Judy thought her actions could work in her favour. Regardless, an impressive debut novel.

My true rating is 3.5 stars - it was a bit too chick lit for me and the HEA was a stretch - however I’ve added an extra star as the Australian scenes are set in my home town : )
