Things Fall Apart shows us the human experience of colonisation from the perspective of local Igbo people. The narrative is both fantastical and human and brings to mind other great reads like 100 Years of Solitude. One of the first globally aclaimed books to come out of Africa, Chinua Achebe crafts a tragic story of change and the people that are affected by it.
