Maithri Goonetilleke is a medical doctor and executive director of Possible Dreams International. He studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and has worked throughout Australia as both a general medical and emergency registrar running sole-doctor emergency departments in rural areas, and working in Indigenous communities and in correctional institutions.

In Swaziland, he provides medical relief to those living with HIV/AIDS, malnutrition, and extreme poverty, as well as providing sustainable development solutions such as access to clean water, agriculture, income generation, and housing.
