Frances Hodgson Burnett

Frances Hodgson Burnett was born in Manchester in 1849 and moved to America in 1865, where she launched a literary career in which she produced over forty books including A Little Princess (1905) and The Secret Garden (1911). Frances died in 1924.

Carly Gledhill

Carly Gledhill is a children’s book Illustrator and surface pattern designer. Combining a love of colour, character design and hand drawn lettering, she has worked as a print designer for design studios and completed an MA in Children’s book illustration.

She is the author of Frog Goes on Holiday, Bat Can't Sleep and the Monty and Sylvester picture books and has illustrated many other books for children. She lives in Stockport in the north of England.
