It was infuriating that Leonora Crosby was always caught in awkward moments by the new village doctor, James Galbraith. It shouldn't have mattered — she was engaged to Tony, after all! — but James proved a stalwart support as Leonora did her best to keep her parents' decrepit but much-loved manor house running smoothly.
