In October 1944, Anne and her sister Margot Frank, together with Auguste van Pels, were transported to Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp, leaving their mother behind and died of starvation. In March 1945, an epidemic of typhus occurred in the camp where Anne Frank died and was buried in a mass grave.
