Tommy began his enlistment and initial training as all Marine Corps recruits. However, during his initial training, he discovered he was an excellent shot. H

After his initial training, he volunteered for sniper training, where he sat several records, and then he joined his assigned unit in Vietnam. In Vietnam. There he set more records with the most kills and the longest sniper kill, and the NVA commanders placed a bounty on his death because of his kills. Tommy rotated back to the U.S., got discharged, accepted an assignment with the CIA as a sniper, and got sent to Iraq, where he lost his sight in an ambush and roadside bomb.

After being rotated back home, he realizes he is a seventy-two-year-old man trying to adapt to being blind and aging. He finds help from an illegal immigrant whom he hires as a live-in nurse and maid. They create a love-hate relationship that leads them to form a new CIA team as a blind, older rich man and nurse. The team accepts a mission in Brazil which could cost both of them their lives.
