There is a saying that we can’t change the wind, we can only adjust our sails so that we can take great advantage of the natural force caused by the wind. This book is not about marine or naval life, it is about the lives of men and women on the earth and their reactions to situations that face them. In an analogy, we can compare our lives to that of sailors in unknown waters. We make mistakes, live harassed lives and just think it is alright. We can chose to try and change the direction of the wind or simply adjust our sails so that we can reduce the effort of thinking we can beat the wind. Many people want to assume that the problems they are in are as a result of fate. Problems can be surmounted and even turned for advantage just like the wind. When confronted with situations, every one of us has a method of reacting, some will go hyper, others comatose, others confused, others will be in full control. All these are because we come to the world wired with batteries included. However, I think that we also come with some wires loose and they have to be riveted by the people we grow up with. In the process of the riveting, some of the loose wires are riveted to the wrong terminal nodes. Problem is that the wrongly riveted terminals cannot just be plucked loose again, they have to be massaged loose over time and re-riveted to the correct points. In some cases, we are impatient to let anyone massage the wrongly riveted wire ends loose; instead, we make do with them.
