Complete Story of the San Francisco Horror is a comprehensive account of the massive earthquake that hit San Francisco in 1906. The earthquake struck the coast of Northern California at 5:12 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18 with an estimated moment magnitude of 7.9. More than 3,000 people died, and over 80% of the city of San Francisco was destroyed. This book seems to have been put together in haste following the tragedy, as there are a couple of publishing errors - Chapters 27 and 33 both end abruptly in the middle of a sentence, and there are also some instances where sections of text are repeated. Nonetheless, this is a very interesting set of accounts following a natural disaster in the not so distant past. Also includes twelve chapters giving accounts of other historic disasters of the past from ancient times to the present day
