Stacy is a married woman with on daughter Casey. Her husband is an important executive that travels all the time and is rarely home. Casey attends college in her hometown so she can live at home with her mother.

Stacy is depressed because she is alone at home most of the time with Casey in college and her husband away on business all the time. She come up with a novel idea to host an exchange student from Spain Elena, allowing her to have at least one more person in the house an alleviate her loneliness.
