Dear Aaron is a deeply intimate journey through the true story of a profound love and marriage partnership, the searing loss that followed the author’s husband’s passing, and the path to mending. Confronting unimaginable grief, this book delves into rediscovering peace amidst pain and reclaiming purpose beyond the endless grind of a hustle culture.
Through heartfelt personal reflections and hard-won insights, Dear Aaron is an insightful compass of resilience, balance, and cultivating inner peace. With self-and-societal analysis, it delves into the complexities of relationships, career pressures, and the journey of rediscovering self-love. Whether you’re healing from grief or seeking clarity amidst life’s challenges, Dear Aaron inspires a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.
Trena takes you on a journey of how her personal experience opened up her observations on how we work today and unfortunately, how we base our worth through our performances. The majority of us feel if we do just a little more, we can get ahead and feel more valued.
She shares incredible insight that your grief is your journey and how you move through loss in death, relationships, and or careers, we need to put ourselves first. As Dear Aaron is not a guide or a playbook, you may see your own story within these pages and feel hope during a tough time.
Trena opens up dialogue on building a sustainable career and not shoulder everything- creating balance in our lives. Realistic expectations and removing oneself from toxic work environments or eliminating hustle to do more and to achieve more with zero regard for our health.
Creating a safe world where we do not put a timeline or a deadline on how we grieve, heal, and mend what we need. Creating more play and meaningful connections.
Trena touches on compulsive behaviors - choosing vices today that are not necessarily healthy and how our mental health has been since 2020. Sweeping emotions, pain, and trauma under the rug does not bring healing- taking the time to heal and address our feelings is vital. Conversations around topics that should not be taboo including managing stress, burn-out, ambition, obsession, and emotional intimacy. Changing the narrative when it comes to mental health, anxiety, and self-care.
Trena's humility in her experiences sheds light on that people-pleasing with zero boundaries, and with no regard for oneself compromises your well-being. She reminds us that we are not broken, however, allowing proper healing and rest to occur so we can learn to not only move with grief or loss but, design better alignment in our lives.
Trena encourages readers that we also need to talk about the state of our mental health and the stress that can arise if neglected. When someone close to you has this sliver of a dark side; you wonder what is causing this turbulence in the heart, the mind.
Our capacity thins, and from what Trena witnessed the years before her husband's passing - we become numb - Forget things, events, and conversations - We don’t laugh as easily because our minds are fixated in chaos - Find that even easy tasks like flossing our teeth become a chore - Experience weakened mental, sexual, physical and spiritual health - Put ourselves on the back burner, including taking care of our health. We continue to move through the motions without feeling much anymore – other than thinking we still have not done enough today, this week, or this year.
Dear Aaron will take you on a journey of hard lessons, and insights, and that self-love starts with self.
