For centuries, philosophers have explored the meaning and value of empathy, recognizing it as the core of morality and compassion. However, it is only recently that neuroscience has illuminated the intricate brain mechanisms that make empathy possible, shedding new light on how this capacity is inherently embedded in human nature. This book aims to explore empathy through the interdisciplinary lens of philosophy, economics and neuroscience. Through this integrated approach, we hope to illuminate the multiple dimensions of empathy and its impact on individuals, society, and the world at large.
