His book on China's influence in Australia, Silent Invasion, was a national bestseller that propelled him to the centre of the China debate at home and abroad. Clive has written numerous bestselling books spanning thirty years in academia. His articles have appeared in the Guardian, New York Times, Foreign Affairs and THES.

Mareike Ohlberg, Author

Mareike is a senior fellow in the Asia Program of the German Marshall Fund. She previously worked at the Mercator Institute for China Studies. Her articles have been published in the New York Times, Foreign Affairs and Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

Charles Burton, Foreword

Charles is an Associate Professor at Brock University specializing in Comparative Politics, Government and Politics of China, Canada-China Relations and Human Rights. He served as Counsellor at the Canadian Embassy to China between 1991-1993 and 1998-2000.
