Bea Birdsong began her career as a classroom teacher before becoming a writer and editor for the education market. She has a degree from the University of Miami.

Bea is a member of SCBWI and Sisters in Crime. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, son, and a spoiled rescue dog named Bilbo. I Will Be Fierce is her first picture book.

Lucy Fleming has been an avid doodler and bookworm since early childhood, and graduated from the University of Lincoln with a first-class honours degree in Illustration. She has illustrated a number of books including River Rose and the Magical Christmas, written by singer Kelly Clarkson, The Snow Queen and Rapunzel, both written by Saviour Pirotta, and Fum, written by Karl Newson. Originally from Warwickshire, she now lives and works near Sheffield.
