When a rumor spreads that Frank Sinatra's ex-wife, Ava Gardner, was seen in the Sands Hotel & Casino in a state of distress, Eddie G. is asked to check it out.
Eddie tracks down the rumor and discovers that Ava was, indeed, briefly in the Sands, but left just as quickly. Following her to LA, Eddie finds out that Ava is afraid she did something horrible during an alcoholic blackout and it falls to Eddie―joined by his big buddy Jerry Epstein―to try to reconstruct that time period and fill in the blanks, ably assisted by the Rat Pack themselves.
But when an attempt is made to put Eddie in the hospital they quickly realize that much more is at stake . . . PRAISE FOR RAT PACK MYSTERY NOVELS
