Stan Walker
Stan Walker is a trans-Tasman R&B star, recording artist, actor and activist. He was born in Melbourne, but grew up between Tauranga in New Zealand and Byron Bay in Australia. In 2009 Stan was the winner of the seventh and final season of Australian Idol.
He has since gone on to record five studio albums, six gold and four platinum singles, as well as one double platinum and triple platinum single in New Zealand. Walker has won eight New Zealand Music Awards, received five ARIA Music Award nominations and won the Waiata Maori Award for Radio Airplay Record of the Year five times, in 2010, 2011 and then three consecutive years in a row, from 2013 to 2015.
Walker was also a judge on the first and second season of The X Factor NZ, in 2013 and 2015. He made his acting debut in the New Zealand film Mt Zion in 2013, played the role of Benjy in the 2015 New Zealand film Born to Dance, and was cast in Taika Waititi's film Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Headlining his own national tours, Stan has shared a touring stage with Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Ciara, Jay Sean, Travie McCoy, Ja Rule, Akon and Jessica Mauboy
