I've been a make-do and mender all my life. From squishing berries into jam with my grandma using fruits from her country garden to sewing with my mum using fabric remnants. A magical life seamless with nature is at my core. This is me, this is where I came from. This is what shaped me. For 20 years or more I dreamed I could start a revolution and wondered why about so many things, why wasn't anyone else doing anything? What could I do? I lost my true self for a while, chasing material dreams we take to be ours. I thought I had it all. During my darkest days that followed marriage breakdown and divorce, I lost it all, my job, my house. But I still had me, my family and community. It was only through the process of writing this book, my thoughts, the lyrics, and healing my heart from years of trauma that I was able to open myself up to the possibility of it all. Sustainable life became an absolute necessity – a primal urge to support my family. A new 'me' was born from this pressure. I chose practical positivity through plant-based food, eco-fashion, meditation, yoga - at one with nature and my nature. I stripped it all down to the core necessities revealing what was there all along - my true purpose to be the change I want to see. This wholly cathartic process that helped ensure I could continue my life, that I could make a difference and that taught me that I do matter. I now can finally live my dreams, finally act towards a more sustainable future for me, my family, my friends and the wider community. This all culminated in me setting up a non-profit organisation Slow Circular Earth UK to enable me to get back In Pursuit Of Life.
