Imagine that you put on a pair of colored contact lenses. When you look at the world it then seem to be colored in the color of the lenses. After a while you get used to see the world like this and you do not notice the color anymore. Our beliefs about our selves and the world are metaphorical equivalent to the color of the lenses, we are so used to, how the world looks, through our beliefs that we rarely stop to wonder how the world really is or if it could be different.
