The incredible true story of a young and brilliant Princess who grew up to become our Queen Elizabeth, the longest-reigning monarch.

Once, a very long time ago, there was a little Princess called Elizabeth (or Lilibet as her family liked to call her) who loved to play and have fun with her horses, dogs and little sister, Margaret. But when she was ten years old, her life changed forever.

From growing up during the Second World War and training as an army mechanic, to celebrating VE day with the people of Britain and marrying Prince Phillip, The Duke of Edinburgh - the man she truly loved - this is the amazing true story of a little girl who became Queen Elizabeth II.

With fantastically fun, charming and playful illustrations by Pauline Reeves, this picture book is the perfect way to explore Queen Elizabeth II's life and legacy with younger readers.

Valerie Wilding

Valerie Wilding loves writing for children because it makes her happy, and she can’t imagine doing anything else. She was a teacher for many years, then a school librarian, but writing took over and that’s how she spends her days. It’s the most challenging and the most satisfying work she’s ever done.

Valerie writes fiction and non-fiction and especially enjoys narrative non-fiction, where lots of information is wrapped up in an exciting story. She has written over a hundred books, on all sorts of subjects, and she likes to bring a touch of humour to everything she does.

Pauline Gregory

Pauline is a Devon based illustrator, living by the sea. She specialises in children's literature. Following her passion, Pauline graduated from Plymouth College of Art with a First Class Honours, BA in illustration.

She takes inspiration from the funny and endearing things animals and people do everyday as well as the superb imagination that children have. Pauline works with traditional materials to create quirky illustrations with humour and charm.
