Oh my gosh!!! This book has just ricocheted to the top of my favorite LJR books ever!

Lucifer is the type of hero that I can really get behind. He’s fierce, protective, loyal but inside his heart is wounded and the possibility of it ever being healed is nil. I loved watching him interact with his coworkers as well as Ana. While he is determined to keep her safe, he also respects her abilities.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Ana. I’m not a big fan of kicka** heroines as they often are too rough and gruff. Ana, however, was more than capable of taking care of business, while allowing her heart to feel. She had a softer side and while it took some time to start to see it, this author created her in a way that I was soon connecting with her as my heart hurt for her loss.

Lucifer and Ana set the page on fire when they allow themselves to reach out to each other. Unfortunately, they have some serious baggage from their combined past. How does a couple even attempt to overcome this kind of issue? The angst and turmoil starts pretty high and I could not stop reading until the last page. And then BAM! Literally. The cliffhanger I knew was coming but had no idea it was going to dangle me off the edge like that!
