Life on Earth is impacted daily by the moon in a mysterious yet fascinating fashion as it toils with tidal forces, guides migration, influences our weather and much more. Its moonlight can trigger species' procreation, coral spawning on the Great Barrier Reef, and perhaps even affect human behaviour.

The author, an amateur astronomer and photographer, provides a unique and interesting perspective on the moon through facts and detailed imagery, some of which he has taken himself. As readers journey through the pages, they will find themselves questioning and indeed pondering some of the key components of the moon's existence, its creation, and its necessity for Earth's survival.

Through the author's research and observations, we look at the lunar surface's enigmatic landscape and examine the effects the moon has on our oceans, seasons, and our imagination.

From age-old tales and myths to modern festivals, music and movies, the spell cast by our closest celestial neighbour is indeed a potent one.

Engage in various concepts such as future lunar and space exploration, the necessary resources that may already be available on the moon and, its foreseeable colonisation. Photographs displaying the lunar Alps, craters and rilles taken with a modern telescope, lunar missions and satellites are used to demonstrate the wondrous detail of the lunar surface.

Whether you're interested in science and looking to learn more or just curious about the moon, this book is a valuable resource for those eager to explore its wonders in simple language.

"Lunar Explorations - The Moon in Plain English" simplifies intricate ideas for all readers with its engaging writing style and clear explanations.

What I liked about this book is the ease at which it enters each subject touching on enough detail to enlighten but certainly not overwhelming. I now have more admiration for the moon and of those that have been lucky enough to go to it. -Good read!
