Michelle Obama is the wife of Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States, and a former First Lady of the United States. She was reared on Chicago's South Side after being born there on January 17, 1964, in Illinois. Princeton University awarded her a bachelor's degree in sociology, and Harvard Law School awarded her a law degree.
Obama began her career as a lawyer after finishing her studies, and she subsequently held the position of associate dean at the University of Chicago. At the University of Chicago Medical Center, she also held the position of vice president for community and external relations.
As first lady, Obama put a lot of emphasis on matters like military families, health and wellness, and education. She started a number of programs, such as "Let's Move!" to fight childhood obesity and "Reach Higher" to inspire young people to seek further education. Via programs like "Joining Forces," she also sought to help military families.
Obama has a successful writing career in addition to her role as First Lady. "Becoming," her first book, was released in 2018; "The Memoirs of Michelle Obama," her second, was released in 2020.
For her commitment to education, health and wellness, and military families, Michelle Obama is a well-liked and significant public figure.
